Our client is looking for strong Java developers to join its London office on a permanent basis. You will be joining their Global Derivatives business that encompasses Credit, Equity, Interest Rate and Hybrid Derivatives. Our client a telecoms industry billing software development company have a requirement for an Oracle 9i, 10g production DBA, you will responsible for the management, maintenance and support of an Oracle 10g production database on Linux and Windows.
Duties will encompass creating development, staging and production schemes in the database, review data model and data load process and optimisation of the load process with parallel execution, implementation and testing of partitioning and compression options in the database, design of data purge and archival procedures.
Desirable knowledge, Oracle 10g , 9i running on Redhat Linux and AIX on IBM System i5 (AS400 I-series) Data warehousing. Experience of working with Java developers querying the RDBMS using SQL over JDBC. Performance tuning including optimizing SQL queries from client programs. Parallelism of periodic data loads and queries. Stored procedures/functions and writing stored procedures and functions (in PL/SQL or Java). Database backup and recovery.
