We are looking for an experienced Java developer for a 6 month contract. The role may be offered on a Permenant basis after 3 mths. A very strong e-commerce development background is required, together with proven skills in J2EE, Rational Application Developer / Eclipse, Websphere v6.x, DB2, SQL, Java and front-end web technologies. Ideally you will have a degree in Computer Science and at least 3-5 years previous experience in Software development. Essential experience includes: Excellent J2EE/Java programming skills, particularly JSPs, EJBs and servlets. Experience with Rational Application Developer / Eclipse IDE, XML, SOAP, web services and Struts framework. Proven record developing within a multi-tiered e-commerce architecture. Knowledge of the full software development cycle, application servers (ideally Websphere V6.x) HTML, Javascript and CSS are also required. The ability to translate functional requirements into technical specifications to build robust, scalable and supportable solutions is required. You need to have full development lifecycle experience from project planning and conception, through design and implementation to QA and delivery. Be able to participate in the delivery of complete systems or applications. Solid and demonstrable relational database knowledge (ideally DB2 / iSeries) – excellent SQL skills. Strong OO Analysis and Design experience is also necessary. The successful candidate will be able to communicate with both technical and non-technical colleagues, internal customers and third-party integrators. You will also be self motivated and dynamic – comfortable working alone or as part of a team. The successful candidate with be the key technical resource on high-profile e-commerce projects following software development best practices. |
