1st Line Support Engineer (Telecoms), near Bradford

A rapidly growing telecoms specialist to the public sector market in West Yorkshire, are looking for two strong 1st Line Support Engineers. My client prides themselves on their high retention rate of customers, due to their no nonsense attitude and genuinely well-meant advice.

As a 1st Line Support Engineer you will be expected to:
• Answering technical queries and logging in the CRM
• Provisioning of services (firewalls, filtering, hosted VoIP, SIP trunking)
• Amending exiting customer installs
• Liaise with 3rd line network engineers to resolve complex issues
• Liaise with 3rd party suppliers regarding faults
• Site installation of new broadband and security services

To apply you must have:
• Exposure to configuring firewall rules
• Understand VPN technologies
• Understand VoIP
• Understand common network and security issues
• Understand network technologies

You will be working a shift rota between 08:00 – 18:00 with occasional out of hours.
Salary is £18,000-£22,000 depending on skill set.

IT Solutions Analyst, Bristol An award winning legal firm are looking to expand their IT team once again with an IT Solutions Analyst. With rapid growth plans, and a turnover of £48 million, they believe in investing in their IT infrastructure and systems. The IT Solutions team is an integral part of IT, looking after software and hardware including procurement, maintenance and support. In this role, you will: - Manage and work on projects to implement, change or decommission software services - Identify and propose improvements - Build relationships with suppliers and 3rd parties - Provide 3rd line support to the service desk for all software services To apply you must have most of the following: - Windows server 2008 skills, particular focus on MS SQL server 2008 - AD including DNS, DHCP, GP - BES - Firewall - Exchange 2010 - System Centre - SAN - VMware.

My client currently have 3 SQL servers, all running different versions, with no standardisation or redundancy. The initial project will be to move all our databases (around 150) to a new pair of servers running on SQL 2008 R2 hosted on VM Ware. Infrastructure Support Analyst (Win2k8, VMWare, DR, PCI); London; required to join a leading UK retail and online fashion business to undertake an Infrastructure Analyst position within the Infrastructure and operations team providing the server and network services, reporting to the Infrastructure Analyst and IT Director you will be responsible for controlling and providing on-going pro-active maintenance and support for any infrastructure issues, provisioning and integration of new infrastructure to support the systems as the business grows, as well as defining standard and policies in conjunction with the IT team.

You’ll provide system administration, pro-active maintenance of both servers and networks, implementation of new infrastructure, provide support to the service desk team on any server or Network related issues, ensure backup ups are functioning correctly, be involved in the disaster recovery plan and on-going testing and maintenance of the plan, support IT systems across the business at HQ, Distro Centres and shops, ensure systems are secure and compliant with PCI DSS security standards.

You will need strong systems administration, Server management and rationalization (50+ servers), AD / Active Directory / Domain Management (including Group Policies and with multiple forests/domains), VMWare, Exchange Server / Office 365 system management, Backup (Backup Exec/eVault), Storage (SAN with Fibre Channel - preferably HP EVA), AV and Firewall (ASA/SonicWall) Management & Security, LAN & WAN network Management, supplier management skills, service management reviews DR procedures, excellent communication skills, hands on, problem, incident and change management skills will all be in use.

Any skills with Powershell Scripting, Windows Deployment Services (WDS) and expertise from a Retail environment or Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards compliance, ITIL knowledge / qualifications would be advantageous.

IT Security Support – Infrastructure & Linux, Gloucester; My client is the market leader in the security market with a global presence. They are looking for IT Security Infrastructure Administrator within their SAAS & Cloud team to address escalated client issues at 3rd line level.
Key Job Tasks;
• Troubleshooting issues at a client site over the phone or liaising with the clients’ system administrator or IT
• Diagnosis of complex issues remotely with limited physical access to the equipment.
• Perform on call duties providing out of hours support to our NOC team
• Participate on project delivery as the support technical lead by advising the project managers & stakeholders on support requirements & ensuring proper delivery of those requirements
• Provide technical training sessions of new products & areas where you are considered the subject matter expert
Key Skills Required;
• Excellent knowledge of Linux, from a user & system administrator perspective. Exposure to other Unix operating systems is plus.
• Expert use of the command line in a Linux/ Unix operating system.
• Demonstrated shell scripting is essential within Bash, Perl, Python or Expect
• Advanced understanding of Unix based email servers operating Qmail, Ecelerity, Postfix, Send mail or Exim. Microsoft Exchange knowledge is an plus.
