The primary role of a developer is to participate in all aspects of the development life cycle. This will include, but not be limited to the analysis of requirements, production of designs and flow charts, production of code deliverables in appropriate programming language, unit testing, setting up technical environments, updating documentation and release of code to other non development systems. These tasks are to be carried out to internal standards. As an analyst developer you are responsible for the production of code and associated documentation to sufficient standards. Reporting to the head of development and project management, you will ensure that you work to agreed timescales, and escalate issues in the appropriate way.

Essential Skills:
· JAVA 1.6+ with a thorough knowledge of Spring and JUnit
· An interest in the development of complex and high performing trading and settlement systems.
· Knowledge of development on Linux/Unix with communication protocols e.g. TCP/IP
· Familiarity with multi-threaded parallel processing systems

Knowledge in one or more of the following areas would be a distinct advantage:
· Knowledge of using Maven, Hudson/Jenkins, AOP, Subversion
· Knowledge of financial markets, especially within the Equity and Fixed income asset classes
· Production use of FIX 4.2 or above, message oriented middleware
· High volume real time message handling
· Real time interactive data display
· Knowledge of MVC based secure web development using JBoss, Weblogic, JSF, PrimeFaces or similar · Linux/UNIX scripting
· Java certification an advantage
